Lion President Geoff Sheldon and Lion Bob Hackman presented a cheque for £2,142 at West Surrey Golf Club to Guildford Shakespeare Company in support of their Put Up Your Swords knife crime awareness campaign.  We were also pleased to present a similar cheque to Martin and Tara Cosser for their Charlie’s Promise charity.  Martin and Tara work tirelessly raising awareness about the dangers of carrying and using knives in Surrey and the UK and are involved with the Put Up Your Swords campaign.  Both charities work with young people, Martin speaks regularly in schools and is a member of a Government working party tackling this problem.

Our Music in the Park event in June Guildford was dedicated to supporting these causes and we were pleased to be able to make these contributions to them.  “The money raised is fantastic and we are so grateful for your support and fundraising efforts.  Thank you.”  (Guildford Shakespeare Company)   “This is a fabulous amount and we’re so grateful to Guildford Lions for supporting our knife crime project.”  (Charlie’s Promise)
