What is a Lions Club?
Are there many Lions Clubs around the world?
There are 1.35 million members in 46,000 clubs in 206 countries and geographical areas.
Who are the Guildford Lions Club?
The Club was formed in 1967 and focuses on making a difference to the Guildford community. We are all volunteers, both male and female, with a passion for helping others whilst having some fun along the way.
We meet at the Waterside Centre in Guildford and in addition to working with our local community as part of Lions International we also respond to global crises when appropriate.
What fundraising activities do we organise?
What about members social events?
We like to have fun and organise a number of club socials throughout the year including a weekend away, dinners, golf and local walks with drinks! etc.

If I join what’s in it for me?
In a nutshell, lots! You may, for example, develop a new skill – or you may enjoy passing your skills on to others. You may have talents, hidden or otherwise, as an organiser, an effective communicator, an IT whiz, a person who enjoys physically putting bits of equipment together, a professional qualification or even a Master’s Degree in Good Humour from the University of Life! Whatever it is, you will have fun and develop new friendships with like-minded people whilst delivering a great service to your community.
How much time will I need to commit if I join?
That’s entirely up to you! Some members give a few hours a month, some a few hours a week and some even more. We recognise that family and work commitments take first priority. We are volunteers, after all!
Where do we meet/cost of membership etc?
We meet monthly at the Waterside Centre, Riverside Guildford GU1 1LW and annual cost of membership is £100 pa
