The Club’s second High Street Classic Car Display in April was a great success with a variety of splendid classic cars parked up.
These ranged from a beautiful 1927 Rolls Royce, a rare Cluley 10/20 from the same era, as well as a 1923 French Delage, to more ‘modern’ classics from Ford, Vauxhall, Jaguar, Rover and Morris.
Foreign makes were well represented and Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes Benz, and numerous American makes and models attracted a lot of attention.
Team SURTES from the University of Surrey were present and had their race car on display and we had other competition cars including a Jaguar 150XK and a Sunbeam Alpine both of which has seen action on the race tracks, and a rally prepared Mini that has seen action on well known rallies in the UK and Europe.

Guildford Lions Classic Car Display is organised to raise funds for our local community work and the event raised about £3,500. Of this £500 was donated to the Prostate Project, who were providing information and guidance to the public from their display van, the remainder being retained for small donations for those in need
in the community.
