Our President for 2022 – 2023 is long standing member Dave Brownjohn.
“I am really pleased to be elected President again, exactly 25 years since the last time. I am looking forward to an exciting year, hopefully making the most of a world now gradually re-opening from the restrictions of the Covid pandemic. The members of the Club work hard to run successful fund-raising events, and also to ensure that we spend those funds in the best possible way to help the local community. Also, just as importantly, we try to have fun while we’re doing it !”
Dave has been a Lion since 1992, and became President for the first time in 1997. He then became Zone Chairman for 1998/99 responsible for liaising with 7 local Lions clubs, and then Region Chairman in 1999/2000 liaising with 20 clubs in Surrey. Since then he has held various posts in the club, including being Activities Chairman, and Sponsorship & PR Chairman, and most recently took over as Treasurer from 2015 until 2020. His first duty as President was to preside over the return of our famous charity raft race now part of the Big River event on 2 July.
