The Guildford Lions annual charity raft race went ahead on Saturday 6 July in warm sunshine. A dozen rafts and their crews were set off from Millmead by the Mayor of Guildford Cllr Richard Billington watched by large crowds. The quickest to complete the course was Hooks Wet Dream and the trophy for the Best Presented Raft and crew went to St George and the Dragon. The Sportsmanship trophy went to our generous sponsors crew; Enterprise rent-a-car, for surviving their hairy launch and for avoiding any number of collisions on their barely controlled raft. Thanks also to Big Yellow Storage for their support. Over £2,000 has already been raised for charity by the rafters with more yet to come in
